Head of PMS & AIF Investments Profile
He possesses a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow and a B.E. degree from the Regional Engineering College in Surat.
Mr Anand Shah has over two decades of expertise in fund management in the Asset Management sector. Anand will begin working with ICICI Prudential AMC in February 2021. He was previously the CEO of N.J. Asset Management. Prior to this position, he was Deputy CEO and Head of Investments at BNP Paribas Asset Management India Pvt. Ltd. There, he was in charge of investments as well as onshore and offshore mandates sub-advised and sales.
He was the Head of Equities at Canara Robeco AMC Ltd before joining BNP Paribas. He was formerly employed as the Co-Head of Equities at ICICI Prudential AMC Ltd. He was the Kotak Mutual Fund’s Vice President of Investments.

Contra Fund:

PMS PIPE:
The key exposure of ICICI Prudential PMS PIPE is to small and mid-cap enterprises with a strong economic moat. These might also be firms amid a bad business cycle or a specific scenario. The PIPE strategy generally consists of value investing and strong fundamentals.
Webinar Key Points
- Suppose there is a business today with a low ROE but the potential to trade at a higher ROE. That’s why we keep investing in every stock we invest in to have a sustainable competitive.
- If businesses have low-cost access to the raw material, they can sustainably make higher ROE. These businesses have a right to win whichever sustainable competitive advantage to survive the downturn.
- India has to import energy from foreign countries. It is a concern as it makes India a net importer and has to spend much of its money.
- China’s present economy is changing, and still, it’s a high competitor, especially from the B2C business model aspect. Though, India has the potential to beat it.
- Perhaps, the upcoming year is more like the year of stock picking rather than exploring, as the guest expressed his assumption. It might be the case, at least for the first several months.
