  • What is AIF / PMS?

    AIFs are investment vehicles that pool funds from multiple investors to invest in alternative assets such as private/listed equity, real estate, hedge funds, and venture capital.

    PMS is a personalized investment service that involves creating and managing portfolio of securities on behalf of an individual or institutional investor.

  • What should be an ideal return for investment in AIF & PMS?

    It depends on investment need and the goal. Ideally the investment horizon should be 3-5 years.

  • What kind of returns once can expect from AIF & PMS?s

    Well, as per the Sebi guidelines, no one can guarantee any returns and it is always subject to market risk, however, it has been observed that the past performance of some of these schemes have shown more than 20% C.A.G.R over a period of last 10-20 years.

  • What kind of exit load in this kind of funds?

    It depends on fund to fund. For instance, PMS are an open ended Scheme, therefore, the exist loads are only up to 12 months but in case of AIF, generally the exist load is in the range of 2-3% up to 3 years of investment.

  • As an Investor, do I have an access to my portfolio?

    Yes 24X7. In case of PMS you have an excess to your portfolio 24x7 wherein you can not only view the value of the portfolio but at the same time you can see your portfolio holdings as well as statement of account at the end of the month. In case of AIF, you are given monthly NAV and portfolio disclosure takes place on yearly basis.

  • What is the horizon views on the Market?

    We believe that one cannot time the market in the short term but when you have your investment horizon from 3-5 years then you can certainly create wealth of yourself because in the long run it is not about timing the market, it is about time in the market.

  • Which kind of PMS I should consider – Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap or Multi Cap?

    It depends on your risk appetite. If you are someone looking out for higher returns and mentally prepared for higher volatility, then you should consider in small caps with at least 7 years of horizon but if you are a moderate investor, then you should consider investing in multi cap where the fund manager takes a call on market based on valuation and yet generate significantly alpha in the strategy and to know your risk appetite i.e. Conservative, Moderate or Aggressive. We should speak to a team of experts who will help you understand it and then decide which fund to go for.

  • Are you a SEBI registered firm?

  • What is your fees?

    We do not charge anything to our clients because we get our commission from respective AMCs.

  • What are the investment options available for me?

    It depends on your investment amount. The minimum thresh hold defined for AIF is 1 Crore and for PMS it is 50 Lakhs. However, if you have investment amount which is less than 50 Lakhs, you can start with an advisory approach which generally starts with 5 Lakhs.

  • What is the churning ratio?

    It depends on the Fund Manager and their investment philosophy. It has been observed that there are managers whose churning ratio is around 30% and there are other managers whose churning ratio is 100%. To know more about a particular fund, you can speak with our qualified team of experts.

  • What should be a size of my portfolio before I commit money in AIF & PMS?

    Ideally the portfolio size should be more than 1 Crore.

  • What should be our message to first time investors?

  • What is a Tax implication for RI and NRI?

    Anybody investing in Indian Capital Market, he will have to bear a Capital Gain tax and depending upon the instrument, the definition for a long term and short term differs. Therefore, it is advisable that you can consult a Chartered Accountant before investing.

  • How to mitigate the risk?

    The best way to mitigate your risk is to pick to you asset allocation because your asset allocation is defined based on your risk appetite. Therefore, it is advisable to get the portfolio reviewed at a regular intervals.

  • Can I transfer my stocks in AIF/PMS?

    You cannot transfer the stocks in case of AIF, however, you can transfer your stocks in case of PMS. After the transfer of the stock, a Fund Manager decides which stocks to hold and which stocks to sale and construct the portfolio as per the model portfolio.

  • What if the Fund Manager leaves the company, will my portfolio get affected?

    Generally the team approach where along with the fund manager, there are other team co fund managers and Analysts who are very close with fund manager and mange the funds. It depends on which fund management team and the organization both.

  • What are the different types of AIF?

    Category I
    These funds are invested in small businesses, start-ups, social ventures, early-stage ventures, angel funds etc. with superior growth potential and certain tax incentives. These are usually of low-risk grades.

    Category II
    This category includes investments in Private Equity (PE) funds, fund of funds, the debt instruments.

    Category III This AIF aims at generating short-term returns by employing diverse and complex trading strategies. Category III funds can include hedge funds and private investment in Public Equity (PIPE) Funds.

  • Can I participate through AIF?

    Yes, there are few asset management companies who timely invest in a real estate through AIF structure. The same is qualified under Cat II.

    Well, it depends on fund to fund. Generally AIF comes with 3 years of exist load whereas PMSs comes with one year of exist load and no hard lock-in.

  • What are the charges of AIF/PMS?

    It comes with options. There are 3 options – one is the fixed management fee and other one is Hybrid and 3rd is pure variables. Generally the Fixed Management fee is 2.5% per annum whereas the Hybrid comes with 1.5% fixed fee and hard hurdle rate of 10% and a profit sharing of 15%.

  • Are my returns guaranteed with AIF/PMS?

    No – the way Mutual Funds investments are subject to market risk, similarly AIF & PMS are also subject to market risk. Therefore, please read the offer documents carefully and discuss the same with Service Provider before you make the investment.
