Pankaj Murarka ( Founder )

He has more than 21 years of expertise in equity research and fund management, as well as a proven track record of success. Pankaj’s last position was Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Axis Mutual Fund, where he managed over $2 billion in Indian equities. He was a member of the team that founded Axis Mutual Fund in 2009 and grew it into one of India’s leading asset management companies through strong investment performance. He was in charge of the performance of all of Axis AMC’s equities funds, and during his tenure as Chief Investment Officer, Axis AMC has been named the finest equity fund company in India. Outlook Money named 2014 Year of the Year.

In 2014, he was also named a runner-up for Best Fund Manager – Axis Midcap Fund by Outlook Money. The fund outperformed the benchmark by 24 percent over three years (2011-2015), and was a top decile fund in 2012 and 2013. It was also named the No. 1 performing fund in India across all funds in 2014 on a three-year basis. He was also named a Leading Fund Manager by Outlook Money in 2015, having a 5-year track record of steady success.

Pankaj has also served as an India Portfolio Manager for Merrill Lynch’s Strategic Investment Group. Rare Enterprises, Motilal Oswal Securities, and UTI Mutual Fund are among his previous employers. Apart from that, he has done a lot of other things throughout his life Pankaj has been influential in the execution of many PIPE and Private Equity investments in addition to regularly generating superior risk-adjusted returns in public markets over the past 20 years.
